Ideal for walls, cabinets, trim, and furniture lime casein paint is a powder paint made from a mixture of casein, minerals, and natural pigments. Lime Casein paint is a traditional, environmentally friendly alternative to modern synthetic paints.
Our line of all-natural lime casein paint has been especially formulated to be easy to use and can be applied to multiple surfaces. From previously painted surfaces to new wallboard with joint compound, Rove + Dwell Lime Casein Paint is self-priming and provides a flat, consistent finish and water resistant once cured. Mixes easily at high speeds with a portable kitchen mixer or drill paint paddle.
Lime Casein paint is known for its breathable nature, which allows moisture to evaporate from the substrate, preventing the buildup of mold and mildew. It also has natural anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. It is organic, zero VOC, it's also often used in restoration and preservation of historic buildings, as it is able to match the original look and feel of the building while also providing protection against the elements. Casein paint is more durable than traditional oil-based paints.
TO MAKE LIME CASEIN PAINT
To make the paint, you simply mix the powder with warm water. How far the paint goes will depend upon your painting technique, how thick/thin you mix the paint, how many coats you do and the contrast between the color your are painting compared to the piece your are painting.
